VMC Man of The Match No 42 versus Aris Salonika

The VMC Forum posse have sent up the Sky Blue smoke and Edin Dzeko is our Man of The Match for the third consecutive fixture...

For a giant striker, Dzeko has tremendous feet and he used both of them to great effect to send the Greek conquerers of Europa Cup holders Atletico Madrid packing.

Yet the affable 24 year old Bosnian hitman has played down his match winning performance that saw The Citizens confirmed as Dynamo Kiev's next Europa opponents:

'I think I can play much better. I wasn't happy with my last chance and it wasn't the first time this has happened...but I'm really happy because it is the first time for City that I've scored two goals in one game and we are in the next round. It was really important that we started well and we managed to get two goals in the first 12 minutes. That was important for the team.'

Elsewhere in that team, David Silva's brilliance remains undimmed and Gareth Barry has returned from being rested up in fine form.

Not my choice, took his goals well and works hard, but woeful in the tackle and still getting caught in possession and some very sloppy play up front. There were better players on the park against Aris.
