'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blatter Under Threat By Yank Who Talks Sense

FIFA President Sepp Blatter will have a least one candidate running against him later this year.

The unknown Yank is Grant Wahl and yes, he's a candidate to become the new FIFA President. Grant is a 37-year-old American sports journalist who's best known for being a writer for Sports Illustrated.

The Kansas born North American is fed up with alleged fraud and corruption within the world's footballing governing body and according to his message the Bachelor of Arts in Politics is determined, if elected to make changes from within the walls of power.

The following video was aired on Fox Sports, Sunday 27 February 2011.

The current FIFA President has been in office since June 1998 and according to many its time for a change.

From all of us here in the States, Grant, best of luck. He'll probably get no support, but after seeing how useless Blatter has been, he has a chance.

Blatter is a horrible man. If he was born 60 years earlier he'd have played some sort of role in the holocaust. No doubt about it.

I'm all for grant running for presidency. He seems like an average guy and will look at the things that most fans are calling for, and will give explanations for why things can't be done. Also anything is a step up from blatter. Now time to do something aout platini in UEFA
Blues 4 life
Blatter's sell-by date was in 1999. He's contributed very little to the great industry that is football

FIFA needs new blood and new faces. Out with the old and in with the new I say.

Grant gets my vote, but as he says if it is the same people that voted for Russia getting the world cup with little infrastructure in place and Qatar whose chances of qualifying for the world cup would be only by actually hosting the thing, then Grant has no chance. Yes famous no 7 i am disrespecting Qatar as a nation to hold the world cup and how they got that winning place is beyond me.

SkyBlueSuedeShoes. This is exactly how i view this man. Nice one. I second disrespecting Qatar as fit to hold the World Cup. This isn't spreading football to the world, it's putting football on the corner of Sackville Street and shouting 'HOW MUCH'!
