Referee Sends 36 Players Off In One Match

Referee Sends 36 Players Off In One Match

I always knew the world was a crazy place but an Argentinean referee has gone one better and broke a world record by sending 36 players off the field of play in just one game.

As you'll see the game ended with a mass brawl but having watched the video clip I'm sure you'll agree the recent Celtic v Rangers match pales into comparison.

Hopefully, today's referee at the City of Manchester Stadium, Stuart Attwell will have a quieter game.

The match between local rivals Claypole and Victoriano Arenas descended into mayhem in the second half as players, technical staff and even fans were involved in the bust-up. In the ensuing chaos referee Damian Rubino decided to give every player from both sides their marching orders. Some backroom staff also saw red. After the game, which ended 2-0 to Claypole, the Victoriano manager accused the official of overreacting, saying he had been "confused".
