'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sizzling Silva Is Up For The Cups

City's brilliant midfield maestro David Silva is adamant that The Citizens, who have lost only 3 games in 28 fixtures have much more to prove this season...

Whereas the sulking, seething, petulant rags have just gone down 3 times inside 5 games, The Blues record has been one of continued steady progress despite narrow defeats by the rags, Everton and Aston Villa since early November.

It's a measure of how greatly improved City's standing in football is that some Blues are dissatisfied with the current situation and style of play which sees the Manchester club 3rd in the Premier League, in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup and in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Ahead of two massive cup clashes with Reading and Dynamo Kiev, Silva has sent out a rallying cry:

'...we have proved we are becoming more of a proper side and the more we play together the better we will become. It is difficult because it has been a lot of people's first season here. It is hard to gel and come together as a unit in that short space of time. There is a lot more to come.'

The cunning Spaniard would like to see his club go further in both remaining cup competitions whilst at the same time maintaining the top four position City have occupied for almost the whole season:

'Let's hope we can get both. We are in a good league position now and still alive in the two cup competitions. Let's hope we can keep doing this and stay in the top four and at least guarantee the Champions League next season.'

- Silva and the City squad are currently enjoying two days rest ahead of their long flight to the Ukraine.
