VMC's Some Might Say: The Rags First Home Derby

London and The Home Counties are said to be experiencing Manchester derby fever for the first time whilst Manchester City prepare to realise a Capital City...

Roberto Mancini:

'We have improved a lot in the last year and every time we have met United we have played at the same level. Maybe they have won a lot of trophies and have done that for a long time...But I feel we are very close and maybe next year we will be on the same level with United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

'I am happy for the supporters as they deserve to go to Wembley for an important semi-final and we hope they can go to the final as well...for them, and for the club, this is good because we work hard and deserve a big satisfaction...we played a good game at Old Trafford last time and we have a chance to win...

'..but we also want to beat Kiev - and reach the Champions League - so we have other targets.'

Shaun Wright-Phillips:

'I have been down this road so many times and we always get United, so to me it was inevitable..! A few of the lads felt it would have been nice to get them in the final, but we have them in the semi so now we have to cross that bridge when we come to it.'

Micah Richards:

'Revenge? You could say that. After Rooney's overhead kick, definitely. We are all looking forward to it. It's going to be a great game.'

IN THE VMC FORUMS:

Blue Dub:

'...beating them could be the beginning for City. Our losing streak against them has to end at some stage, let's hope this time will be our time.'

Fifth Column Blue:

'Trust the rags to get a home tie in the semis...'

NZ Blue:

'...our home game against Spurs that weekend will need to be postponed ....here we go again.'

eighthsin:

'Great achievement to get to Wembley. Glad we got the rags in the semi's and not the final - I dont think my heart could take it and I'm only 25.'

Nobby Allcock (and every rag on planet earth):

'..our blip is out of the road and we are going to teach you another lesson in how to GO FOR GLORY. like I told all the bitters on the m.e.n THE MIGHTY REDS are about to hit form at the perfect time.

'...when you take the field brciking it in london WE WILL UNLEASH HELL.'
