'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Biggest Derby Yet?

Robyn McDermott sent Vital Manchester City the following:

It seems as though the phrase has been thrown around for every single derby since the takeover, but perhaps the media finally have it right. For the first time since 1926 we will face the old foe in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Certainly our late heartbreak in the League Cup semi's last year was an important game in terms of our long term progression but the FA Cup is a different prospect altogether. To beat them would bring us one step closer to finally lifting that elusive first trophy and would finally break the metaphorical brick wall that is keeping us back.

And beating them on our way there would signal a shift in power between the two sides, and would go some way to banishing the memories of those late shows last year.

But to do it our boys must channel the spirit of '99. We must fight until the very last minute, challenge for every ball and chase every lost cause. And those that do will write themselves into City folklore.

So to the weekend of the 15 - 16 April... for the losers it will be excruciating but for those who stream down Wembley Way as victors it will be absolutely mesmerising.

So as they say, to the victor the spoils...

Main priority here is of course making it to our first FA Cup final in 30 years, if we do the fact that we will have disposed of the rags along the way will make it all the sweeter.

Hopefully we can make it another year :P Shame it couldn't be saved to the final to make it all that more special.

It will only be "The Biggest Derby Ever" if they win it.

They stand in our way again. We have got to do them sooner or later and we will. We just won't go away!
