Turkish Officials In Charge For Crunch Game

UEFA Referees Committee has confirmed the officials for tonight's Europa League second leg game between Manchester City and Dynamo Kyiv.

The match will be officiated by Turkish referee Cüneyt Çakir, who has been an international ref since 2007. The 34-year-old is no stranger to the Ukrainian team, having been the referee for Dynamo's 2-2 draw with Drogheda United in August 2008 and their 1:3 win at Gent in 2010.

Cüneyt Çakir will be assisted by his fellow countrymen Bahattin Duran and Tarik Ongun. Hüseyin Göçek and Baris Simsek will patrol the goal lines, while Suleyman Abay will act as the fourth official.

Cüneyt Çakir: Further details can be found here.

Here's to him proving a better ref than the rubbish we've had in the Premier League this season.

You sure he wasn't a died in the wool Kiev fan? Because he bought EVERYTHING the Kiev players threw at him - that Popov was heading for hospital at least 5 times tonight, yet he still managed to finish the match!

Terrible referee, he was throwing cards out for fun and fell for every trick from Kiev.
