Richards Stretchered Off

Resurgent right-back Micah Richards was stretchered off just minutes into England's U-21 clash against Denmark spelling more trouble for Roberto Mancini's beleaguered squad.

England went on to beat the Danes comfortably courtesy of goals from Danny Welbeck, Scott Sinclair, former Manchester City academy graduate Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson, but news of Richards' injury will come as blow to City fans who were beginning to see the best of him.

Richards is believed to have suffered a hamstring problem which could mean that the England U-21 captain could miss vital games for Manchester City in the coming weeks.

Richards has arguably got back to his best under Mancini and has been instumental in City's water-tight defence, one that has managed to keep 13 clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

Hamstrings are not mended quickly, lets hope it is less serious than that and wish a speedy recovery to Micah.

We seem to ship a lot of hamstring pulls and tears at City.
