City Chairman's Call To Arms



MCFC Chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak gave a rousing speech to City's squad in advance of the demolition of Sunderland...

Adam Johnson's return from serious injury much earlier than expected has in itself given Planet Blue a boost but according to the quicksilver winger, the words of City's cool for cats 36 year old Chairman motivated the players impressively:

'The chairman Khaldoon spoke to us on Sunday morning...he outlined what getting into the Champions League would mean to this club and, I think, spurred everyone on for the victory against Sunderland...He said he was fully backing us and that everyone was behind us to get that Champions League place...He also said how important it was to win a trophy because we hadn't won one for over 30 years.'

Warm winds of optimism are swirling around SportCity and Carrington as the squad regroup with a week's preparation before the crucial trip to Liverpool.
