Spurs Stutter Boosting City's Chance Of Fourth

Tottenham did Manchester City a massive favour yesterday by only managing to scrape a 2-2 draw against a battling West Brom side.

Peter Odemwingie put the Baggies ahead before Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermain Defoe hit back for Spurs. But substitute Simon Cox smashed in a superb leveller meaning the spoils were shared.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said after the game...

"We're obviously disappointed because we thought we were in good shape 2-1 up, but Simon Cox has scored a world-class goal to equalise."

"It's difficult winning games in this league and West Brom are a good side."

"We moved the ball about well but we've got no divine right to win games. We'll try and make the top four and if we don't we'll try again next year."

City are now a point ahead of Spurs with a game in hand. The Blues face Blackburn at Ewood Park on Monday night.

Fourth is yours now, I have no doubt. I really thought we would take it on the home stright but 1 win in 7 is shocking when you look at who we have played.

Enjoy the CL next season lads. We've handed it to you on a plate and you have deserved it. Well done.

The race for 4th is not over and done with by a long stretch but I have to admit the ball is firmly in our court. We have to take something from the Blackburn game on Monday night just to give is a slight cushion and a four point gap.

You do seem to be doing your best to let us get a decent lead up, but we've still got 6 difficult games to go - not much in the way of mid-table fodder, just tooth and nail relegation candidates and teams with European qualification in mind - If we're 7 points clear of you by the game at Eastlands then I might have some fingernails left going into the summer...

some of tottenham's results this season when I've expected them to win have been truly shocking, they're really helping us along.

We still need to keep our wits about us. Liverpool are coming up on the rails also, so we need to beat Blackburn and West Ham and then we are 2 games and 6 points closer to the winning line. THe kind of commitment showed at Wembley will do very nicely, Roberto.

4th is not ours until we grab it, we have a legacy of blowing big opportunities and I won't believe it until we're 3 or more points clear (with superior goal difference) and one game each to play.

Mancio is spot on. We have some very dangerous games imminent.
