Tevez Declares Himself Fit For The Big Finish

City Captain Carlos Tevez who has been sidelined in recent weeks with a hamstring injury has told Roberto Mancini he is ready to play a part against Everton...

This is something of an extraordinary development considering that many Blues had conceded that the sight of City's talisman with his 51 goals from 75 starts trudging off against Liverpool signalled the end of his career at the club.

Yet in his absence the squad have galvanised themselves under the dominant leadership of Vincent Kompany, reaching the FA Cup Final and securing 6 crucial Champions League place attaining points.

It could well be that Tevez, having scored his 50th goal in the shirt and then seemingly losing some zest suddenly wants a piece of the action again following intensive treatment.

El Apache came through a first full training session yesterday and in typically bullish fashion said he was ready to face David 'Lescott' Moyes' team.

To his credit, Mancio is yet to rush a player back from injury early the way that Mark Hughes often did and his squad has benefitted from that steady eddie approach.

But if truth be told, the dapper City gaffer who rates Tevez's FA Cup Final chances as only 50% will know that heading for London with the fiery Argentinian in his weaponry would significantly boost the club's chances of securing long craved silverware.

Do you think Tevez will make the FA Cup Final or even feature against Everton or Tottenham?

On the bench v Everton and start v Spurs - after that not too sure about the Final.

You know my thoughts JB. I think he was job-hunting in Italy not expecting us to get to the final. But now he wants to play after several indifferent performances. Bench all season for me. He can come on last 20 at Wembley and score the winner. We can't afford to risk him, the injury returns in the first 20 and then bring on Balotelli who will be pulling a face becasue he wasn't a starter. Mancini's too smart for that....I think!

I really don't like all this "Declares himself fit" business - it should be up to the club's medical staff and the manager to announce such things. Just hope Tevez doesn't throw a strop if Mancini decides to leave him on the bench for the next three games, as we could do without the distraction at this point in time.

Should he start in the final? I believe should be the question. Like you say JB the team seems to have galvanised in his absence and we have actually won a higher percentage of our games this season when Tevez has not featured ( ***** without Tevez, my arse! ), however he is our top goalscorer so how can you justify leaving him out if he is fit, decisions, decisions. Oh to be privvy to Mancini's thoughts on this one.
