Mancio: Cup Win, Then We Have Ignition

Roberto Mancini is ready for a Manchester City blast off into what will be for many of us, the unknown. As we ache for success, he reckons a first trophy will launch the club...

The suave City supremo has been sharing a cappucino with hacks at the famous Gazzetta dello Sport and has given something of a State Of The Blue Nation address:

'Our goal was to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. If we get fourth the season's stock is positive, if we win the FA Cup too it becomes extraordinary. I'm convinced that if we bring home the FA Cup on Saturday then next season we'll fight for the Premier League title. The team will be reinforced. It's already good, but needs the spark from a victory.'

Inspiring stuff, and the boss then made a point of underlining his appreciation of the support afforded by His Highness Sheikh Mansour:

'Both owner Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak are pleased with our growth. They are ideal leaders. They know that without the time you cannot build anything.'

Mancio then went on to answer important questions regarding the City squad and certain key players. He emphasised that Mario Balotelli will stay at Eastlands and that he hopes Carlos Tévez will retract a stated to the club intention to play in Italy.

The gaffer then revealed that The Citizens are indeed monitoring numerous potential reinforcements as hinted at by Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp:

'We're watching Sanchez, Pastore, Cavani and many others...'

JOHNNY MARR APPEARS AT CITY SQUARE TUESDAY NIGHT:

Guitarist Johnny Marr, City defender Jerome Boateng, and local band Supra, will be special guests for tonight's super 'Live From City Square' for the Spurs game.

They'll be alongside the ever-popular Fanzone Danny in a great line-up for another sensational free show hosted by top anchorman Hugh Ferris and former Blues favourite Nicky Summerbee.
