Lionel Messi: Would He - Could He?

Football commentators are currently talking about whether Cristiano Ronaldo will replace Carlos Tevez in the summer but hold on, presenters on talkSPORT this afternoon went one further and began debating whether Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is also on Manchester City's radar.

To be honest I switched the car radio off when I heard the name Messi mentioned as the talkSPORT presenters were beginning to grind my gears. I mean why are we even wasting our time on the subject? I appreciate the club could afford his mega-million pound buy-out clause but come on, Lionel Messi playing for Manchester City FC.

Some years down the road if he thinks he needs a new challenge, it could be a possibility. Now - NONE! He's a big Oasis fan, as in a really big Oasis fan, so Noel and Liam would need to get on the phone to him. ;)

as a chelsea fan i have been there before nothing like the morning paper back page. to be honest well done i was glad you finished top four and its great that you can put prssure on those****s that you share a city with. as fans i think yous deserve it you have been to hell and back and now the the future looks bright. good luck in the champs league next year. but when it comes to signings please for the love of god stay away from our targets. heres hoping lol

In a word NO

Nothing is imposable and if you want to be the best you need to go to the big leagues as in English Premier League.

These petty debates on talksport et al do not reflect any debate between fans or the club. There should really be a disclaimer because none of us are even entertaining the notion of that balls. Messi is amazing but its not going to happen - I know it, you know it, they know it.

Heyv weluvzolaa - we did too - always remember Gianfranco getting a standing ovation at CoMs (might even have been Maine Road!) off the City fans once when you beat us 4-nil (back in the days when City were everyone's fave team - wonder why?!! Zola was pure class, and wasn't half bad as a manaqer, despite what Wet Spam's owners thought. But as to Messi being one of your transfer targets? LOL! Nobody has a chance until the lad is 34/35 and wants one last move I'm afraid.

If tevez DOES go, theres no chance messi will come to us at the moment! think its more likely we,ll got alexis sanchez, and from what i,ve seen of him on you tube "he's class". here's hoping!
