Swansea City, Cannon Fodder - Never

The dust hasn't even settled from their Championship play-off final win over Reading on Bank Holiday Monday and I'm sad to say there are those who predict Swansea City will be nothing more than Premier League cannon-fodder.

The last time Manchester City played Swansea in a league fixture was in the old Second Division (1983/84) at the Vetch Field when City came away with a 2-0 win. Since then both the Swans and the Citizens have found fame and fortune but in different ways.

Swansea moved to the new Liberty Stadium during the summer of 2005 and with a capacity of just over 20,000 their new stadium is one to be proud of. I'm sure visiting Blues will be made more than welcome next season.

We at Vital Manchester City wish Swansea City the best of British (oops - Welsh). Enjoy the experience no matter how short the ride may or may not be.

Swansea do like to attack, so let's hope for their sakes they can do a Blackpool - with out the dreaded R-word at the end of the season of course! Good luck to the Swans, bet you've been letting Cardiff know all about this one!

I didn't want to see Blackpool relegated and hope with fingers crossed Swansea don't go the same way. Football fans love to see attacking footy but as we all appreciate defence is a must. Start leaking goals and all hell breaks lose.
Tudor
If Swansea are as entertaining as Blackpool were, we are in for a fun season. Hopefully the officials don't give an opposing team a way back in (like when they failed to give Blackpool a penalty up 2-0 to the rags, a game which they lost) and Swansea can stay up.

Congrats Swansea. At least Liverpool have the chance to play outside England next season with the Swans promotion.;-)
Bluedub
Always good to see new blood ...just hope they don't go the way of so many other newly promoted teams.....

Hope Swansea stay up.They like to pass the ball and keep it on the floor, unlike half the teams in the premier(stoke, everton, bolton to name afew).Talking about long ball teams, did you see the Stretford rangers on Saturday hoofing the ball up all the time, all to no avail.

They've been doing that all season giolib - was like watching Wimbledon when i went to the swamp derby this season! Guess it's because they have no midfield these days...

Be a good day out that!

From a Spurs fan, I would like to congratulate you guys on a good season, you deserved it, as at times we have been poor and other times luck avoided us. Hope you do well in the CL.
