'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lescott Will Probably Sit On The England Bench

England face Switzerland at Wembley Stadium on Saturday in the final game of a long season and the Manchester City player knows Rio Ferdinand and captain John Terry look the favourites to play alongside each other.

He added: 'It is going to be hard getting into the team as they are two of the best players in the world and have been doing it for a number of years.'

'I will apply myself right and hopefully playing in the Champions League for Manchester City next season will only bode well for me if I am called upon.'

So much for shaking things up and building a squad for the future Mr Capello... yes John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are up and coming stars aren' they..... BTW I know Lescott is 28, but he's more likely to make the next world cup than the other two who will be 33 and 35.

Lescott being passed up for two players who might not be fully fit? Poor choice by Capello.

I can't stand your club and the way you've bought everything. You belong in league 2

And just shows, every spurs article on vital has 100's of fans commenting yet citeh has 3 - says it all... Bandwagon and money. Where's the "hardcore" crew from the 90's? Hmmmmmmmmm

"""I can't stand your club and the way you've bought everything. You belong in league 2""" Not sure if I read the final positions in PL but I thought it said City 3rd .....whinging spuds 5th. ......pass the hankies somebody

It's a far cry from about 5 years back Matt isn't it? When Spurs spent around £50 million on transfers and City spent £2.5 million, it's funny how things can change so quickly. Just out of interest can you stand Chelsea, U****d, Real Madrid, Inter, AC Milan, Liverpool, they have all spent big to achieve success, do you feel the same way about them? Could you stand your own club 3 seasons back when you spent around £90 million on transfers in one season? Finally mate your bandwagon comment makes no sense whatsoever, what has that got to do with how many members are posting on Vital City. Think before you type.

We were in league 2 Mattspurs. Belong there? Evidently not. Regarding Lescott being overlooked for the team, it is as baffling as how Glen johnson is repeatedly picked at right back and Micah is dumped in the U21's.

Another bitter Spurs fan, stop the presses.

Where were we when we were *****?!! pmsl!

Mattyspurs wipe them tears away lad. As far as lescott goes, i agree with keep partnering ferdinand and terry when they are aging but id take dawson and cahill over lescott for england.
