Crocky Back On The Books Pending Offload

Abysmal City signing Roque Santa Cruz has returned from a five month loan deal at Blackburn Rovers where he maintained a form of consistency...

Mark Hughes' inexplicable £17,500,000 capture from Rovers in July 2009 has registered 8 league and cup starts for the Ewood Park outfit this year, equalising his 8 league and cup starts for City across the previous 17 months.

These two totals contribute to an overall pisspoor 78 competitive starts across 4 years for Blackburn and The Blues.

The affable Paraguayan striker has so far failed to add this year to the 4 goals he has scored for City which came at a toe curling cost of £4,375,000. And one of them came against Scunthorpe United.

Crocky took his perma-injured form back to Blackburn on loan having signed for City whilst rehabilitating from major knee surgery at Rovers.

He's not a chance of playing for City again and the statistics above allied to his time at Bayern Munich rack up 182 competitive starts in 12 years.

Enough to scare off any potential right minded suitor but not it seems Rovers boss Steve Kean:

'It was tough for Roque. He picked up a couple of knocks. But every day in training, he showed us how good he is. Now the loan period's up, we'll be in contact and see if he's available.'

Shhhh! Don't say them appearance stats too loud it might put Mr Kean off. I'll personally volunteer to wheel Crocky down to Ewood Park on his stretcher if Venky's sanction the deal.

The purchase of Santa Cruz was a gift from Hughes to his friends at Blackburn. That should have got him the sack on its own.

There are still some odd people out there who criticise Hughes sacking at City!

Well when they put a bid in for god sake just accept it. Nothing against the guy on a personal level but he has been a massive waste of money. God knows how much we spent on his wages as well as his transfer fee.

Looks like Kean has the horn. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6970568,00.html

Please. Pretty please! Pretty please with sugar on top! Come on chicken farmers, you know you want to!

He should never, ever have passed the fitness test. FFS, he was injured when he took the test! How does that work? RSC will have known from his own body that he was crocked but he still signed on the dotted line. Thank you very much Sparky! Kerrching!

Who could ever those repeated desperate bids?
Johnny Baguette
If I recall correctly Rovers knocked Hughes back 4 times for RSC's signature. I recall many Blues at the time becoming increasingly uncomfortable. They weren't wrong at all in the end. IMHO, worst ever signing in the history of the club.
