Bridge Burning Boateng's Bayern Bombshell

In an unexpected twist irregular City defender Jerome Boateng has announced that he wishes to join Bayern Munich following their open stalking of the player...

Lets face it, the rarely smiling repeatedly injured 22 year old full international just hasn't got going in sky blue. 22 inconsistent league and cup starts tell their own story across City's 59 game last season.

Despite steadily recurring statements from Bayern's heirarchy in recent weeks talking of an intention to sign Boateng, City boss Roberto Mancini, backed by many City fans declared a counter intention to keep him.

However, Boateng's decision to talk to hacks about his situation won't have endeared him to anyone at Eastlands or sent out the signal that he's a young man prepared to fight for his place:

'I would like to go to Munich. On my side everything is clear. Bayern are bigger than City, they are one of the top six teams in Europe. To play for them would be an honour.
It is all about whether I am released. I hope it works.

'I have already told Roberto Mancini that I want to play in central defence and not at full-back.

'Bayern have indicated I will play in the centre. To play there regularly is important for me because I will have a better chance of playing in the national team.'

With City's defence now established as the finest in The Premier League, Boateng will hardly be missed.

Not really a bombshell this one. He's been injured, never settled and when he did play you could tell there was potential but that he needed a season or two adjust. We won't miss a player that never played.

Not been overly impressed with him TBH, and he's clearly not been impressed with spending so much time on the bench. He arrived as a supposed replacement for either Zabaleta or Richards, but instead of resigning themselves to the exit door, both Pablo and Micah raised their games and kept him out. So i thank him for giving us the real Micah Richards back and I'll wish him luck as well - we shoulod also turn a tidy profit on him, although how he figures he's going to get regular game time at Bayern when he couldn't nail down a spot at Eastlands is beyond me!

He clearly wants to go...and as he has never really contributed to the team I say let him.......

Joe Hart said in the FA Cup Final programme that "he has the most boring voice." That's that sealed then! Get rid.
Johnny Baguette
Sack him! He cant talk blatantly like that about the club which pays he's wages,at least be more honourable.
