Shay's Dilemma

Shay's Dilemma

Trevor Jacobs sent Vital Manchester City the following.

Shay Given has admitted he is still in two minds as to whether his future lies with Manchester City. The Irish goalkeeper is set to hold talks with the club before deciding whether it is best for him to find another club.

City's shot stopper was quoted saying...

'I don't know, it's too early to say yes or no either way,' he told Sky Sports News.

'It's a big club that's going places, with fantastic owners, so you don't want to jump ship if you don't have to. But at the same time, I miss the buzz of playing football and I just want to get playing football again.'

'We'll see what the club's thoughts on it are as well, it's not just myself. I'll see what they want me to do and what's best for both parties.'

As phenomenal as it is to have Shay as our number two would loyal City fans really want to see such a great keeper on the bench week in week out.

Very classy statements by Shay. If he stays it will be great, but if he leaves and gets to be first choice keeper somewhere else, that's even better.

For his own playing future with Ireland I would like to see him go and get more game time....but not to another PL team ....he is too good to have to play against....

Hmmm...some choice? A 'Winston Bogarde' or pay cut. Hence the 'classy statement'.

Difference between he and Bogarde, is we don't want to get rid of Shay and would gladly keep him as #2.

Would of liked to have him at Spurs. Collect the cash Shay, the football is overrated.

Hope he stays, we need top class backup in all positions and we are going places, take the money and think of the medals.
