City Start The New Season At Home Against Swansea

Manchester City begin the 2011/12 Premier League season at home against newly promoted Swansea City.

One has to go back to 8 October 1983 and the old Second Division the last time Swansea travelled to MCFC and Maine Road for a league match. Incidentally the Blues won 2-1.

The season kicks off on Saturday 13 August and finishes on Sunday 13 May 2012 when Queens Park Rangers visit the City of Manchester Stadium.

Season 2011/12 fixture list can be found here.

OH MY GOD WE ACTUALLY GOT A HOME GAME TO KICK OFF THE SEASON! When was the last time that happened?

Have done a bit of research and found out this season will be the first time in SIX years that we've started a season with a home fixture. The "Totally random" fixture computer clearly doesn't like us much, does it?
fifthcolumnblue
It wouldn't appear so Fifth considering we're fixed to play away following all 6 of our CL group games. Random my arse!

this must be the 1st time that Taggart and his cronies have not got their own way in the fixture stakes, as a certain Mr Benites was once quoted as saying..... cynical me never....

Good to start the season at home. The title challenge begins against the Welsh.

The six year ready up comes to an end. Has to be said that this represents as promising a run of opening fixtures as we've seen in a long time.
Johnny Baguette
Nice steady start for Swansea... 3 points!
Timmsy
Moonchester better be up for it. Cyril The Swan has previous!
