Garry Cook Opens Groundbreaking New City Store

Despite the rain, eager City fans turned out in force to witness the club's chief executive, Garry Cook, officially re-open Eastlands' CityStore after a one million pound refurbishment. Incidentally, the other chap in the picture is Steven Roberts, a Blue who won a recent CityStore competition.

The store at the stadium has undergone a major overhaul, which has seen it become the most digitally advanced football retail store in the UK.

A £1m investment by retail partner Kitbag has resulted in the store being transformed into an innovative experience for fans. Increasing the retail area by 25 percent, the interior of the existing store has been completely overhauled to offer a massive 10,000 square foot of shopping space.

Sophisticated Green Screen technology has been implemented to offer fans the chance to be pictured in a variety of settings; for example lifting the FA Cup along with their heroes. The backgrounds available with the technology will constantly be changed and updated so that fans can enjoy new experiences each time they visit the store.

The new CityStore at the stadium is open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5.30pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.

It is another signal as to where the Club is going. We seem to have toured the football world and seen things like fan zones, Club shops, pre-match entertainment and said..we like that, we'll do that..but ours will be better. Look at the City Square, look at the Store, the pre-match screens, the FA Cup, 3rd in the league. Promised and happening.
