Nasri And Clichy To City: Speculation Intense

17h35 Eastlands Time: Manchester City are widely reported to be close to signing The Arsenal's Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy who is already reported in France as a new Blue...

The battle for Nasri's signature has come down to a straight scrap between City and the rags who have been linked by French hacks with the French international all week.

City's bid potentially could involve players moving to the Emirates.

More as we get it...

Any of our Gooner mates on The Vital Network able to shed light on these exit rumours? Does Wenger have a cunning plan?

Nasri would be an immense signing but I'm really not sold on Clichy. He was great a few seasons again but mediocre since and his crossing is as bad as Bridge's! HOWEVER, Mancini has proven again and again that he gets the best out of defenders, turning Kompany into one of the best CBs in the world, restoring Lescott to his full abilities, and turning Micah into a monster again.

Both only have 1 year left on their contracts and have turned down contract offers already, so I could only assume these moves are highly possible. There'd be no way Wenger would sell to a rival under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal circumstances, so a decent offer for the pair will probably land them.

What's the mood like amongst The Arsenal fans right now, Rocky?

The Grauniad's man in Manchester who spends most of his time up Taggarts arse says City are bemused over Nasri reports and don't plan to pursue him. He reckons Clichy is a done deal. The jury was out on this hack for some time but his rag Arslikhan was unbelievable around the time of the cup semi.

You can bet your last dollar bill that Wenger will not be happy about selling Nasri to either Manchester or Trafford, but i have a sneaking suspicion he'd consider us the lesser of two evils, and despite their apparent dislike of us since we became a threat instead of "little Ciddy", I suspect most of the Arsenal fans would probably feel the same.

I'm so jealous about Nasri.Although I doubt very much that Arsene would sell to Chelsea.Anyway good luck in the coming season,If Chelsea can't win the title next season I'd much rather you guys won it than any of the other competitors.

Very nice of you to say that Blueblaze, I must confess I wanted Chelsea to win it last season if we couldn't. I am a bit peeved at the way you treated Ancelotti, as I considered him one of the most likeable managers in the PL (not hard if you consider the likes of Slur Alex, Vinegar tits, Gollum Moyes or the elephant man LOL!), but hey, that's all water under the Bridge, eh? (see what I did there?)

He was a likeable guy no doubt and most of us wanted him to stay for at least another year.None of us were pleased with the way he was treated.I'm very glad we've hired Villas-Boas though,he has already convinced me in his press conference. It's always nice to hear someone from another team wishing us well,we don't get that a lot,so thanks for that.Chelsea and City should be bros,we're both rich,we're both vilified by the press and we both get considerable hate from the neutrals.Bros for life.

Cant see Wenger selling to United Im quite confident they are not even in the running for Nasri. City will sign him and that will be an amazing signing.
