'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Please Mr Redknapp, He's All Yours

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp knows a good player when he sees one and on this occasion his hunt for a good striker may be over with the possible signing of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Ade was shipped out on loan at Real Madrid for part of last season and with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini keen to move the 27-year-old on then Spurs may come to the rescue.

Speaking on Spurs' pre-season tour of South Africa 'Arry said...

'The chairman, Daniel Levy has been speaking about it, I am not sure if it will happen. He is a name (Emmanuel Adebayor) that has certainly been mentioned, certainly.'

'I spoke to the chairman about loaning the player and if we could work out a deal for him, I would like to bring him to the club.'

What about a permanent signing 'Arry?

Ade scoring and playing well...

Please Mr Redknapp, he's all yours - you won't regret it, honest!

Love it to hapen but can any of you City fans tell me; will you sell him to us?
Not if we foot his wages we won't!
If the price is right why not?
If he's going to spuds they can have him for nothing!
I'll happily pay his bus fare to London. He's all yours lads.
You can have him, but not on loan.
Great signing, proven goal-scorer and ability and knows how to play the 1 man up front role due to his experience at Arse. Definetly has something to prove after two disappointing season's in the main and moving back to London could be just what he needs. Needs to get these stupid City wages out of his head and back into the real world. Guaranteed to start and could form a great partnership with VDV. 14m I've seen quoted seems a very fair price aswell!
El Jefe
I doubt he'd take the drop in wages that moving to Spuds will demand, but be happy to see the back of him if so, he fawned over Real, badmouthed Mancini and effectively badmouthed City, good riddance.
In our position we could do a lot worse and Harry normally manages the 'slightly unhinged' very well. Although as I said on the forum, the main stumbling block is nobody has ever or will ever take a 100k drop in wages for the sake of first team football. There's no possible way he'd fit into our wage structure unfortunately
I haven't published a 'tongue in cheek' article for ages.
HeavyRiffs - that's funny, didn't he do the same to Arsenal? And fawned AC Milan whilst there? Recurring patterns... avoid.... Can't afford him anyway....
He'll end up back at Real I'm guessing, possibly on loan with them paying his full wages. He already turned down moves to Zenit (Russian champs) and PSG (loaded now and destined to be the top team in France soon) so intent is he on returning to Real.
Dont want him, not in the spurs squad anyway. I would have him between the posts, if you know what I mean boys. He is rubbish look at his stats, worse than Pav.
Horny Helen
he has every right to bad mouth city, you were all chirping with delight when you signed him and now you want rid, ballotelli is no different to adebayor yet you will be happy to say he is the bees knees yet in a season or two when city decide they wanna bin him and he gets angry with it you will all say please someone take him off our hands as he is overpaid and overated, your club decide to pay these players astronomical wages (how else would you sign them?) and so it's your own fault when you can't shift them. your club obviously thought he was worth 175,000 a week who else will think it?
spursman79. Probably one the bitterest and least humoured post I've seen in a while. You'll end up with angina if you harbour so much anger. If your club got taken over by a multi-billionaire you would keep schtum.
erm........ my club is already owned by a multi-billionaire thankyou, my post is true, i hope he stays at city or at least gets loaned while your club foots the bill for his wages, tell me one other reason for joining city other than money? the other excuse of want to be a part of the rise of man city is also a load of rubbish just to avoid admitting that it's money they are after, i have no envy whatsoever, you have paid your way to be where you are in astonomical transfer fees and wages, spurs have not and yet there is not much between the two clubs, you know you will see us as a threat next season. if my club won the league next season i know it won't be down to the fact that money got us there, our highest transfer fee is 16.8m which is pretty modest in todays market, what is yours? and what was it before the arabs rolled in?
We'll take him, but you'll have to pay 2/3 of his you guys have any interest of Keane, Crouch or Defoe?...they're top quality players, I promise?
"you have paid your way to be where you are in astonomical transfer fees and wages, spurs have not" Hahaha! Gotta love it when rival fans come on here and talk out of their backsides. The following link will take you to a website called Transfer League which details every club's transfer spend since 1992. Funny then that penny-[inching SPuds should be the 3rd biggest spenders in the league (Behind Chelsea and us) but ahead of Manure. Don't forget as well, that most of our spending has taken place over the last three seasons, so it would appear that the humble, penny-pinching spuds did actually spend some hard cash to get where they are. Pity it wasn't enough eh? PMSL.
I didn't say you were envious, you did. Who gives a ***** what your highest transfer fee is? No one asked.
In many ways he'd be perfect for us and the football we want to play. The wages issue is a tad unfortunate, but we'll have to wait and see. Wouldn't shock me if it was just an unrealistic target, spoken about publicly to appease the fans who want the wheels in motion. He tends to heavily scout and talk about players whose wages are far in excess of what we want to pay, Luis Fabiano and Diego Forlan spring to mind. Then after months of scouting and running his mouth, Redknapp says "wages are too high" and we're stuck with the usual dross.
Spursman, stop talking such *****. He has no right whatsoever to bad mouth City. When a new manager comes in ( Mancini ) to replace the manager ( Hughes ) that chose what is currently in his squad it is inevitable that the new man isn't going to necessarily fancy playing what the the old manager left behind, especially when that player has an attitude problem. Mancini showed real compassion ( only right to ) to Adebayor after that tragic attack on the Togo team bus and advised him to take as much time as he needed, showing him respect. When Ade returned his attitude on the pitch was markedly different, he didn't try a leg. Mancini after a number of run ins lost patience with him and froze him out as he was disrupting team spirit. Adebayor then start running his mouth to the press at every given opportunity to bad mouth City and Mancini, do you really believe he was right to do this? Or are you just blinded by your hatred of City so much that it makes you talk such *****?
""""Or are you just blinded by your hatred of City so much that it makes you talk such *****?"""" Unfortunately BD this is the only reason some people come on VMC...It would be nice to see some constructive comments ....but we are talking spuds fans!!!!
Doody - If you were trying to be ironic then that was genius
Phartman - if you were trying to miss the point then that was genius.
FCB - With respect the point I was making is that of the 8 spurs fans who commented in the article 7 were talking about the actual transfer so it's not 'spuds' fans, it's one guy. Although considering the sniping and bitterness you generally post on Vital Spurs must say I'm not surprised by your response
Sniping and bitterness? LOL. I suppose my comments the other day when you were all committing virtual suicide before the season has even started (hint - I told you to all calm down, that you weren't far off last season, etc. etc.) can be construed as bitterness? If you venture down to our forums and view the signature on my posts I think you'll find that Spurs fans have a histroy of arrogant cockism that noone else can rival.
""Doody - If you were trying to be ironic then that was genius Phartman87""" I am impressed ....a spuds supporter that can use the word ironic in a sentence!!!! what next?
Maybe a City fan who can use quotation marks correctly ;)
Spuds fans 'If 'Arry (leg-end in his manor only) has the money to buy him all well and good, pay the money and 'av him.... BUT as it stands Spurs are on the OUTSIDE looking in and NO MONEY to buy anything... and if it's LOANS your after Pay the FULL WAGESof said person, not asking for City to pay 60% of them, read this and keep in mind.... CITY ARE NOT A CHARITY, IF YOU CANT PAY, YOU DONT BUY... SIMPLES.....
