Sergio Agüero Signs For Manchester City

Arguably the hottest Premier League signing of the summer has gone through this evening as Sergio 'Kun' Agüero has signed for The Blues from Atletico Madrid...

Agüero is the MCFC record signing with an agreed fee talked up as £36 million around Eastlands tonight.

MCFC Twitter has been following the Argentine International goalsmith's movements throughout the day and confirmed the player's signing at the Etihad Stadium a few moments ago. The striker signed and almost immediately went outside the building to meet his new fans.

The prolific marksman goes straight into The Citizens squad for this weekend's Dublin Super Cup tournament and is highly likely to face the rags in the community shield the weekend after following Sir Alex Ferguson's latest 'noisy neighbours' City teamtalk a couple of days ago.

City's hierarchy are no mugs. 23 year old Agüero is yet another star player who fits the bill of being young and hungry for honours ahead of imminent financial regulations for European clubs.

Make no mistake about it, Agüero has been coveted by Europe's elite clubs for some time. With El Kun on board through this statement of intent, City are now undeniably serious title contenders.

31 July 16:15: Inter Milan, Dublin, F
07 August 14:30: The rags, Wembley, CS
15 August 20:00 Swansea, Etihad Stadium, PL

'City's hierarchy are no mugs'. M'lud, I should like to present exhibit A, one Joleon Lescott, £24 million, I believe. Stop that laughing in court.

LJ - who had the meanest defence in the PL last season? City. Who played central defence for City lastt season? Lescott. Too many people believe the sheidt that is written in the press and don't pay enough attention to the actual football if you ask me.

Mind you, fairs fair. The press conference for new players at City these days adds a new dimension to that favourite panel game 'Just A minute'. No repetition, deviation, hesitation or REMUNERATION.

Lescott was fantastic last season, maybe not 24m but with English players you always pay a stupid premium (Henderson 20m, Carroll 35m, Wickham up to 12m). Kompany + Lescott were one of the meanest CB pairings around.

Who does lordjohnny support? I really hope it's not liverpool with the ridiculous cash they have been splashing on players who don't even deserve to be classed as 'average'.

On paper he's a very good signing. Quick question though, Mancini said he wanted one more striker when he said he had Balotelli, Dzeko and Tevez, now if Tevez leaves will you be back in the market for another one?

Hard to know TF7, since Mancini has said that Guidetti has signed a contract so he could be the fourth striker. The general consensus seems to be that if we bring in another player it will be a creative/attacking midfielder. Maybe Nasri, maybe Sneijder and we've even been linked with Douglas Costa recently.

Who would be your preference as an attacking mid then Bluedub?

Nasri would be a great addition if we could get him - Seems unlikely though with Arsenal seeming willing to let him go for free next season in order to keep him this one. Don't think we'll go for another striker now...and who knows Tevez will not stay for another 6 months...I wouldn't mind him staying for a bit as our attack would be fearsome with him and Kun upfront

Don't know about Dub, Famous but personally I think a lot of Blues would prefer to see us go for Sneijder. He'd cost an absolute bomb, but is already world class, whereas Nasri is inconsistent and Costa, although he has Champions League experience is still a bit young and raw for my liking. We have some great prospects developing in our academy at the moment, so taking a punt on Sneijder would give them 2-3 seasons to develop into his replacement.

John Guidetti is our fourth striker when Tevez leaves, sounds like he has been guaranteed first team football as part of his new contract. Been at the club since he was 16/17.

Fair dues fcb. When money isn't an issue why settle for anything less than the best? The best attacking mid in the world in my opinion and I had suspicions when I first read the Inter's chief executives comments about him being available for the right price that it was open advertising for yourselves and Chelsea.

I couldn't decide between the three TF7. Sneijder is arguably the best player in that position in the world and I've no doubt would make an instant impact but his age and price are two things that would put me off ( and yes money is an issue ). Nasri has shown at Arsenal that he can be almost untouchable on his day, problem being them days don't happen often enough, he also strikes me as a bit of a stroppy git but at that price he could be well worth the gamble. Douglas Costa looks to me like he's going to be a quality player, albeit I've only seen him play a handful of times, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we signed him, he'd likely cost less than the other two.
