AJ All Washed Up At City Drivel Is Beyond Belief

AJ All Washed Up At City Drivel Is Beyond Belief

Desperate anti-City brigade hacks who have failed abysmally to derail the City juggernaut have resorted to picking off individual targets. The latest is AJ...

24 year old England international Adam Johnson suffered a dip in form following a serious injury last season yet defied the odds in making the end of season run in that co-incided with a sensational team effort realising a third placed league finish and the FA Cup to the utter dismay of a legion of crestfallen hacks.

Johnson, a brilliant talent with many years on the clock ahead of him, has fronted much of the new season's club merchandising publicity and is a popular figure around a resurgent City squad poised for a first ever Champions League campaign. So why on earth would he consider moves to Everton or Liverpool drearily touted in The Street of Shame?

Roberto Mancini didn't sign AJ from Middlesbrough to make up the numbers. He is still learning and now has a platform to ply his trade alongside the very best in what will be this season a squad rotation based campaign.

The fact is that any move out of the Etihad Stadium now for guaranteed starts on the advice of learned pundits with agendas to pursue would be a ludicrous step down.

Daily Fail seems to be one of the worst culprits, although there was an article in yesterday's Torygragh that "feared for AJ's England career" if he stayed at City. Funny, but here was I thinking that he'd won his first and subsequent England caps whilst playing with us. He didn't end last season in particularly fine form due to his serious ankle injury, but he did start something like 14 out of 16 games, so why he'd be unhappy with that is beyond me. Guess I just don't have the vivid imagination necessary to be a sports journalist. Or a crack pipe.

I see the Daily Hitler are now lying that all our players are 'seething' at Aguero and his contract. Lying t***s. Get a f*****g life.
29/07/2011 08:47:00
Yeah, funny that a "City source" has had time to conduct a straw poll of all of our players and how peevbed they are about Aguerro's deal seeing as he only put pen to paper yesterday. I smell a rat, and that rat is Joorabchian.

Mancini took AJ from obscurity and turned him into an England regular who has scored goals for his country. He has delivered for that young man, end of story. It is time for AJ to step up to the new level and step ahead of the wannabes at Arsenal and Spurs and Liverpool. Also it was very predicatable that the snail nail would try to start a riot at the Etihad. They're all at it. TalkRubbish was at it yesterday afternoon - Mancini is under pressure to deliver and he hasn't got what it takes. Hello? FA Cup won and Champions League qualification when we had a team of misfit mercenaries who couldn't be moulded. Get real. You want it not to work but sadly for you it will.
29/07/2011 09:12:00
To be fair fellas, you have so many talented stars now that there simply is no place for AJ. Now can you please donate him to us? :o)
29/07/2011 09:19:00
Ruining Hart, Ruining Richards, Ruining Milner now we're Ruining Johnson. Ruining England. Ruining the Sky 4. Ruining Football. If AJ really is the English messiah and needs rescuing...where are the £30m bids from Euro top clubs? None? Thought not. 43 appearances last season, only 19 as sub. If he's got more in his locker, he's certainly getting the game time to prove it.

Johnson is our third best winger on current form behind Weiss and SWP. A true "MOTD" player who looks great in highlights but contributes very little over 90 minutes. He really needs a kick up the backside and Mancini has every right to bench him if he chooses.
