City England Players Return North After Training

Any manager concerns over potential injury to their England players this week are now alleviated with the understandable postponement of England versus Holland...

The unprecedented decision to call off a pre Euro 2012 qualifiers preparation friendly was inevitable with London's policing so stretched amid shocking rioting.

The Holland squad have remained in Amsterdam and after a training day, the likes of Jimmy Milner, Joe Hart, AJ, Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott and Micah will return to their clubs. Nigel De Jong will also be back with The Blues earlier than expected.

There weren't many people in favour of an England international friendly so close to the start of the Premier League season, but nobody would have wished for a postponement as a result of such terrible events as those unfolding in London this week.

Bit of a relief JB with all the players we had lined up to play!!
Pedmachine
Well that was a useful excersise wasn't it?
fifthcolumnblue
I doubt all this nonsense is making the homesick feel any better.
TheFamousNo7
@TheFamousNo& - I doubt Rooney was homesick, too many bad memories of his own fans threatening to kill him and his family outside his own home, class fans.
HeavyRiffs
Didn't realise I was insulting you...
TheFamousNo7
Why, were they rioting in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge?
fifthcolumnblue
What gives you the impression you've insulted anybody TF7?
Bluedub
HeavyRiffs comment. Why the hostility if I hadn't done anything wrong bluedub? fcb, isn't just a case of monkey see monkey do? There doesn't appear to be any reason or motive for the rioting. Well the chavs seems to think they're showing the rich people that "they do what they want" and are sticking it to the government but these are the same people who "rite lke dis m8" and speak like "dis blud you get me?"
TheFamousNo7
Thin heavyriffs was making he point that none of last night's thugs targeted footballers, whereas your fans have a history of getting balaclavaed up and threatening your own players. So whereas the riots probably mean absolutely nothing to the wealthy footballers who live in Hale barns, the thugs outside Rooney's house clearly did influence him.
fifthcolumnblue
Fair enough it doesn't target the footballers directly all the same though it's hardly going to make them feel any better about the country. I thought HeavyRiffs was just having a pop because he took my comment the wrong way, instead he's having a pop for the sakes of being able to. Thought you lot were a hospitable bunch? :P
TheFamousNo7
If anything the riots should make Tevez feel more at home don't you think?
Bluedub
Fair enough Bluedub. Word is you're closing in on Nasri who has supposedly been omitted from the Arsenal squad that will play Newcastle. Whats your thoughts on it?
TheFamousNo7
Quality footballer, we definitely need another creative option in our midfield so understand the logic behind the signing. His temperament is a bit of a concern and the fee and wages bring reported are a tad high for my liking but I guess time will tell as to whether he's worth it.
