Welcome To Manchester City Samir Nasri

Manchester City FC is on the verge of paying £22m for Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri. The deal should be completed by the end of the weekend.

The 24-year-old France international has refused to sign an extension to his Gunners contract which means in 12-months time he would be eligible for a Bosman, should he stay. Arsène Wenger on the other hand is thought to be fuming about losing his play-maker; nevertheless he has resigned himself to facing the new Premier League season without Samir, and now Cesc Fàbregas, who is expected to travel to Barcelona around the same time as Nasri heads to the Etihad Stadium.

Welcome to Manchester City Samir Nasri.

Latest rumour has it that Arsenal want to swap Nasri + cash for tevez - Not going to happen, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this one go down to deadline day at this rate!
fifthcolumnblue
Arsenal will not pay Nasri more than 90,000 pw who on earth thinks they will pay tevez 240,000 pw?
jackblue
Another Arsenal player for the Man City retirement home. Perhaps you will get more than the 6 months we got out of him in 3 years but I doubt it.
gooner303
why is it every time an Arsenal player leaves the Emirates he will/ is only going for the money, or not that good a player? we all know Nasri is/can be a world beater no matter what team he plays for, will the same 'fans' be saying the 'darling' of the Emirates Cesc Fabregas is now just an overrated plyer for going Back to Barca? Ass-hole fans stfu, they are gong deal with it.......
cityman51
Wenger must be doing cartwheels at selling a player whose value is rapidly approaching 0 for 22m
Ghentis
gong? has he gong yet?
gooner303
The 22 mil doesn't seem too bad, perhaps a bit steep for someone with 1 year left on their contract but his proven in the league (well half :P) and is still relatively young. If it's anything to go by, his reported wages are shocking.
TheFamousNo7
Yep, truly shocking Famous. According to the press he'll be earning anywhere between £160 to £185k per week. Don't they know that ALL our players are on over £200k per week? LOL.
fifthcolumnblue
How would anyone know what his potential wage at City is? Gooner303, being pedantic over an obvious typo is just a tad pathetic.
Bluedub
It was the 160-185k I was referring to. He'll be earning more than Fabregas at Arsenal and his rumoured Barca wages and will be earning similar amounts to Sneijder. Like I said though, it's the only thing I can go by, i'm not saying it's true in the slightest.
TheFamousNo7
maybe so but not as pathetic as this article will look when he doesnt sign for Man City
gooner303
How much is Fabregas reported to be earning then? Was it not reported that for Sneijder to match his current wages at Inter that U*d would have to pay him more than Shrek?
Bluedub
Bluedub, the reports I read said Sneijder was on 180-200k a week which is far less than what Rooney earns and even then Fergie isn't even signing him. Also, from what I've read Fabregas is going to take a pay cut worth 5 mil to engineer his move to Barcelona. If you want to defend Nasri's rumoured 180k a week then fair enough but in my eyes 180k in the football economy is the wage which is given to the world class players not to a player whos only ever had a good half-season for his club.
TheFamousNo7
I'm not trying to defend anything TF7 because frankly I haven't got a clue what his wages are. If Sneijder gets paid that by Inter then after tax he would earn more than Shrek would he not?
Bluedub
Fu(k knows Bluedub :S If Sneijders wages were 180k a week after tax then yes he would earn more than Rooney but I don't believe we were ever in the market for Sneijder, thus why i'm sceptical about all reports. All i know is, if the rumoured 180k a week for Nasri is true, in my eyes, it's far too much for him.
TheFamousNo7
Maybe it is maybe it isn't. Tbh I'm *****ed off giving a ***** about who cost what or who earns what. Football has become way too money obsessed and I'm not just talking about what's being spent, I'm talking about media and more annoyingly football fans constantly discussing it. I'd much rather discuss the actual football, that's why we all start watching in the first place wasn't it? Because we actually love the game itself and not the circus that surrounds it
Bluedub
Ah yes, football. Must have forgotten about that!
fifthcolumnblue
Sneijder doesn't fit the mould the City hierarchy have set for signings. He's that bit too old and has that ropey knees issue.
Johnny Baguette
bluedub thank you for bringing this into context i wish more people had your outlook

Arsenal need Nasri and Fabregas badly on that performance at Newcastle today. No leadership. The Geordies look a poor, disjointed side. Very one dimensional. Some nice possession play from Arsenal with *****poor finishing. Discipline went again with Song sly on Barton. His should have been the red, not Gervinho's. 87 reds under Wenger and it won't be the last this season.
Johnny Baguette
I agree with gooner's 6 months in 3 years analogy. But anyway, can Nasri not buy his contract up as he is into the final 12 months of a 4 year contract?
