Nasrigate: Wenger Quotes Weeks Ago Aired In France

Arsene Wenger has addressed Arsenal's legion of supporters in France on numerous subjects but a question mark hovers over when an interview with TF1 took place...

The national French TV channel has run an exclusive with the beleaguered Arsenal boss focusing upon Cesc Fabregas' departure, Samir Nasri's future and intended recruitment amongst other subjects.

During the interview, a relaxed Wenger shows no sign of the pressured fatigue he has revealed in recent days and at the outset, clearly states:

'Both Manchester clubs are on his tail.'

This is the first time that the rags have been linked with Nasri in weeks. Despite that Wenger then goes on to announce that a transfer deal to somewhere, for Nasri is:

'Far, far, far from being done.'

Wenger is evidently under pressure to sell in order to recruit and with no less than THREE Nasri agents haggling for readies out of a transfer to join City's dambuster attackers, he faces the dilemma of losing out on what looks to be desperately needed funds if City decide to pull the plug.

This correspondent's betting is on the French interview having taken place last month.

I also see that out of the blue we are now favourites to sign Scott Parker (or at least Skybet thinks so) http://www.skybet.com/betting/football/transfer-specials/scott-parker--to-sign-for-in-summer-2011-transfer-window/e12968096.html?aff=699

Just hope that it isn't in anyway connected to this, Parker is a good player but not as good as Nasri.

Thats an odd one alright PC. It goes against the policy of recruiting them young which we've seen from Mancini. He's a good player but not needed at City, we need a creative option to link up with/cover for Silva.

Touche, though he'd be cheap and a decent squaddie. Just hope that if it does materialize, that it isn't in anyway connected to the Nasri deal

True, maybe Mancini is eyeing up a Paddy Vieira replacement, I'd be surprised if it happened though.

Hold up. This Nasri to City or the rags story coming out of France might hold more water than I thought. TF1 are pushing it again. Weird how the rags have popped up. This link won't tell you anything new but suggests any move is dead in the water right now..... http://www.tf1.fr/telefoot/news-football/manchester-le-cas-nasri-agace-mancini-et-wenger-6650648.html
