Crafty Spurs gaffer Harold Redknapp has raised the stakes a little in advance of Sunday's game against Man City. He reckons The Blues have a stronger squad than Barcelona...
'...it's an amazing array of players they have...' he said enviously.
'You look at that forward line now and they have Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Silva - it's amazing. Then you have players like Balotelli who can't get in the team along with Bellamy and Santa Cruz.'
You can chalk the last name off, Harry, but we get your drift.
'They are looking strong. I would say that they have probably got as strong a squad as any team in the world. They don't have Messi but man for man, they certainly have a stronger squad than Barcelona. They have two men in every position who are top-class players.'
The last time around on the opening day of last season, a City team with numerous new faces was pilloried from all angles for a defensive approach that generated a Joe Hart goalkeeping masterclass.
It will be fascinating to see how a fully gelled trophy winning City side approach this season's trip to The Lane and guage the post match reaction.
