Redknapp: City Squad Stronger Than Barcelona

Crafty Spurs gaffer Harold Redknapp has raised the stakes a little in advance of Sunday's game against Man City. He reckons The Blues have a stronger squad than Barcelona...

'...it's an amazing array of players they have...' he said enviously.

'You look at that forward line now and they have Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko and Silva - it's amazing. Then you have players like Balotelli who can't get in the team along with Bellamy and Santa Cruz.'

You can chalk the last name off, Harry, but we get your drift.

'They are looking strong. I would say that they have probably got as strong a squad as any team in the world. They don't have Messi but man for man, they certainly have a stronger squad than Barcelona. They have two men in every position who are top-class players.'

The last time around on the opening day of last season, a City team with numerous new faces was pilloried from all angles for a defensive approach that generated a Joe Hart goalkeeping masterclass.

It will be fascinating to see how a fully gelled trophy winning City side approach this season's trip to The Lane and guage the post match reaction.

It's tough to say that "now you think he's the new oracle" when you're the first person to comment on the story, The Horses Mouth...

Its the best foreign squad in the premier leaguge thats for sure , Top clubs have ruined the chances for English talent to come through , As a Wolves fan I was proud as punch to notice all 11 players were British and 3 Irish , Will be 20 years before the top clubs could do that , Arsenal Chelsea and yourselves , as lets face it it wont be long before you have a foreign 11 under Mancini ! , I dont know how you can be proud to support a club when its run the way yours is , Its not a profitable club , you dont spend money you earn , just a billionaire owner , Wolves West.Brom Stoke and Wigan are the top clubs in England , only ones who dont have to be run on an overdraft or dodgy sponsorship deals !
