Nasri Sustains Hand Injury With France

During France's dreary nil niller in Romania last night, substitute Samir Nasri took a knock on his left hand that required treatment at the end of the EURO 2012 qualifier...

Reports in Paris certainly agree that France were lucky to come away from playing on two quintessentially rubbish pitches in Albania and Romania during the past few days without shipping more injuries. Nasri in fact took a knock on his right foot in Les Blues win in Tirana.

As its stands, the FFF are suggesting that City's quicksilver midfielder has possibly sustained a metacarpal fracture in that left hand during his 15 minute appearance.

Nasri is now back in town for treatment with the best team in the land and all the world and will hopefully still feature against Wigan.

Not good news if true but these things can be managed better nowadays with casts........ This is why we need a deep squad (for all the detractors banging on at City buying 'loads of players').

The pitch was absolutely horrific in Romania. I can't believe FIFA lets them get away with that sham of a playing surface. It looked as if they were playing on a deep carpet that wasn't secured at all and bunch up all over the place.

He will probably be able to play with a cast but to be honest, I don't think he would have played against Wigan anyway. I expect "tier 2" featuring Tevez and Balotelli to start for Wigan with players rested for Napoli on Wednesday.

You couldn't make it up. That was Romania's opening of their brand new stadium. Understand Nasri's *****ter account has been bombarded by some nasty stuff.

Johnny, Arsenal fans have been wishing death, decapitations and more on him on Twitter - never seen such violent attitudes from football fans.

He's available for game versus Wigan. The injury hasn't proved to be too serious.
