City's Nominated Players For The NextGen Series

Manchester City Football Club has today published their nominated players for this seasons NextGen Series.

City not only enters the season as serious title contenders and first timers in The Champions League, but also as one of few English sides in The NextGen Series.

City's nominated squad:

Academy first years: Devante Cole, George Evans, Shay Facey, George Glendon, Jordy Hiwula, Louis Hutton, Ian Lawlor, Gregory Leigh, Ellis Plummer, George Swan.

Academy second years: Paul Clowes, Luke Coulson, Adam Drury, Thomas Halsall, Alex Henshall, George King, Courtney  Meppen-Walter, Emyr Huws, Kieran Kennedy, Albert Rusnak, Denis Suarez.

Carrington-based: Harry Bunn, Bradley Robinson, Joan Angel Román, Ahmad Benali, Jeremy Helan, Eirik  Johansen, Freddie Veseli, Andreas Mancini, Karim Rekik, Abdul Rasak, Francisco Desilva.

City fixtures - Group One

Manchester City v Barcelona - 15.09.11 - Ewen Fields - 7pm

Marseille v Manchester City - 05.10.11 - Stadium Marcel Cerdan - 2:30pm

Manchester City v Celtic - 17.10.11 - Ewen Fields - 7pm

Barcelona v Manchester City - 02.11.11 - Mini Estadi - Time TBC

Celtic v Manchester City - 07.11.11 - Celtic Park - 7:30pm

Manchester City v Marseille - 24.11.11 - Ewen Fields - 7:30pm

The top two clubs in each group progress to the knockout stage, concluding with the final in January.

Can't wait for this one - will be a great experience for the youngsters playing against proper teams as well.
