Mancio Calls For Barca, Milan And Rags Mentality

In the run up to this weekend's mission to Craven Cottage, Roberto Mancini sends out the message that he wants to see a strong mentality in his squad...

The City flyers head for winless Fulham knowing that in 9 Premier League fixtures at The Cottage, City have lost only once when the likes of Danny Mills and Kiki Musampa were running about 6 years ago.

This will be the first of the 6 Premier League away games that City will face after each Champions League group fixture this year. For their part the rags will of course benefit from 6 home league games.

Mancio:

'The problem will be when we only have three days. Four days is enough time to recover but it's normal that it will be harder than last year.'

The cunning City gaffer is likely to change the personnel again utilising his deep resources as City bid to make it 5 straight league wins in a row. Mario Balotelli is widely touted to start. But it's the bigger picture that Mancio is focused upon as a difficult phase of match intensity continues:

'Sometimes it is better not to play very well but to score and then control the game, like United and Milan do...we need to play to win always but we also need to understand that we can win not only because we always play well.

'...I want our team to have a strong mentality like United, Milan or Barcelona. All these teams have won the Champions League or the Championship in their own countries. I think we need to have this mentality.'
