Ribery In Bullish Mood Ahead Of Facing City

Bayern Munich and French International midfielder Franck Ribery is enjoying his finest form in three seasons as Manchester City fly in for the big Oktoberfest clash...

The crafty 28 year old known as 'scarface' in France might have winced on TV when The Blues came up against The Bavarians, but City's defenders must be on their mettle when they come up against the resurgent winger:

'I am very happy in Munich, my family feels very comfortable here and my new son is a true Bavarian. It's true that I'm really happy. It's been a while since I've felt so good. It's no secret that it didn't really work between Louis van Gaal and me. But for me, the subject is closed, I assure you. I am delighted with Jupp Heynckes, we have an excellent relationship.'

Ribery points to Bayern's success thus far this season being built upon a solid defensive platform. The team have conceded only one league goal this season:

'We have become much more solid in defence. The new recruits, Boateng and Rafinha have been good for us....we are in a good way.

'If they go on playing like that, nothing will be able to stop us.'

Early team news suggests that Ribery and co will be going up against Nigel De Jong who has a midfield to tighten up.

Not surprised Bayern are confident, they've not been beaten yet this season. But then again, neither have we, so something's go to give.

Probably means a draw, fifth. I still think this group is going to be won by a team with 7 or 8 points. Napoli and Bayern will lock horns, Villarreal might be a push around, but they are still pretty tough. If we can beat Bayern tomorrow night they might be re-thinking their status as favorites.
