VMC Forum Man Of The Season Update

The Wolves Cup and League double header ended 8-3 in The Citizens favour. The VMC Forum pollsters named Edin Dzeko and Aleks Kolarov as City's Maine Men and rightly so...

Dzeko led the line admirably at Molineux and was right in amongst the action whereas the resurgent Kolarov continued to go about his business professionally breaking up play and getting forward where neccessary. Again, both players are clearly benefitting from the competition for places in the buzzing City squad.

Apropos of something unrelated, can someone advise why your club has the three stars above your badge? I'm not trying to be snidey, but it has always intrigued me, as is it not normally associated with CL winners? If you win it this year will that mean you remove two?
lordjohnny
Because they look pretty. Good question.
Bluedub
They are decorative and nothing else.
StuMCFC
Like Idi Amin's medal collection, then?
lordjohnny
Yeah, just like that LJ, plank!
Bluedub
They are decorative, but there are three of them - just as there are three diagonal stripes on the Manchester coat of arms - to represent the 3 rivers of Manchester - the Irwell, the Irk and the Medlock. So whilst the diagonal stripes represent the rivers, it was decided that the stars should do also.
fifthcolumnblue
I can take an educated guess at the river that Bluedub most associates with then.
lordjohnny
Can you not see the irony in that comment LJ?
Bluedub
The Liffey?
rojo2010
No but I'm sure there's lots of it in the river.
lordjohnny
Haha, nice one Rojo.
