Barcelona Outclass Manchester City

Vital Manchester City received the following press release from the NextGen Series media newsroom.

Barcelona proved they are one of the teams to beat in the NextGen Series after putting in a masterful performance last night.

The Catalan's treated fans at the Mini Estadi to an impressive attacking display with Sandro Ramirez, newly promoted from Juvenil B, scoring two goals on his tournament debut. Barcelona's third came from substitute Miguel Angel who scored a sublime free-kick in the 70th minute whilst late goals from Barca B star Gustavo Ledes and a consolation goal from City's Devante Cole saw the tie finish at 4-1.

Manchester City's side included two Spaniards in the form of Denis Suarez and Joan Roman Angel who, despite impressive displays, were powerless in their attempts to thwart their rivals.

The defeat leaves City, travelling on Monday to Glasgow to face Celtic at Park Head, rooted to the bottom of Group 1 without a point. Barcelona extend their lead at the top, three points above Marseille, and are now only one point away from qualification to the NextGen Quarter-Finals

The full time score, and scorers, for the game were:

Barcelona 4 (Ramirez 2, Angel, Ledes)
Manchester City 1 (Cole)
