QPR Captain In City Manager Thumbs Down Shocker
One Joey Barton, erstwhile City hero turned prolific Twitterer has delivered his verdict of dapper City gaffer Roberto Mancini's credentials...
Barton's borderline creepy Twitter account makes for fascinating reading, particularly the spats with Arsenal legend Piers 'Morgan' Moron. But he's popped up via the pages of The Daily Star to dismiss the achievements Mancio made at Manchester City inside his first 17 months at the controls: An FA Cup, a Premier League 3rd place finish and subsequent direct Champions League qualification:
'He's done well - but I think you could have done that job with that amount of money!' he told his TV interviewer.
'For me, the test of a manager is not managing Man City but managing a Birmingham or Nottingham Forest - a club that doesn`t have a great deal of finance...that's when you find out who the true managers really are.'
Mancio, the man who managed a bankrupt Lazio and Fiorentina, take note!

"but I think you could have done that job with that amount of money" - Well Hughes couldn't! It's easier to manage a team with low budget and low expectations than a rich powerhouse in the making where the pressure is on.
