James on the Way Out?

David James appears to have played his last game for the blues with a move to Portsmouth looking all the more likely for the former England number one.

Stuart Pearce yesterday confirmed that Portsmouth had made an official approach for James with an offer being tabled that is believed to be somewhere in the region of £2 million.
James, for his part, is reported to be interested in the move as Pompey are prepared to offer him a three year deal.

With James not making an appearance for the blues in China it seems as though the writing is on the wall and that he will leave this week. With just Nicky Weaver, backed up by the inexperienced Hart and Schmeichel, to cover the goalkeeping spot it maybe that the club has to bring a new keeper in this week.

ok im all for pompey needing another goalie for squad purposes but i rate deano more than ol fumble fingers james and james will require 1st team action probably forcing deano out of pompey. still, there arent many other goalies that id rather sign that are available. so thanks :)

All keepers come with a risk factor. The bigger they are the bigger the fall.

Not too bothered if James leaves as long as we buy a decent replacement. Dont think weaver is up to it and Hart is too young
