Silva Hopeful Of Playing Against Wigan

David Silva believes his ankle injury will have heeled in time for Monday nights match against Premier League strugglers Wigan Athletic.

Being knocked out of the FA Cup by United was an important moment - we really wanted to try and retain the trophy,' David told The Sun.

Painful

'And it was a pain watching the Carling Cup defeat on television. It was a bad result for us but we could rise above it in the second leg at Anfield. We still have a good chance of making the final.'

'One thing is certain; we have failed in two consecutive home matches against big clubs.'

Priority

'But I do not think these setbacks are that significant or that City are a club in crisis. The season is very long and any club can suffer defeats. Of course our priority is the league.'

'We top the table and any one of our rivals would rather be in our position. Even at this stage a three-point advantage is sensational. But from now on we must play every match as though it were a final.'

City v Wigan

'I think that I will be able to play, although the decision rests with the coach. But it's not going to be an easy night.'

Silva has been sorely missed and I for one welcome him back with open arms.

Good to hear it's not as serious as some rumours suggested. Since when has being 3 points clear at the top of the table been considered a crisis?

I really like watching this guys play - even though he plays for Sh11ty

Have any of your recent signings got any release clauses in their contracts - like if you dont win the EPL for a couple of years they can leave? lol I hope he sees the error of his ways playing for you lot, and hands in a transfer request and we buy him lol
niteworlok
Slur would probably, no actually most likely ruin him by trying to force him into his style of play. Like he did with Berbaflop.
Bluedub
You know thats bull**** BD - SAF has nutured a lot of players on their path in their chosen proffession and tbh he would give someone of Silva's class and skill a free roaming role to score for us and set up Roo and Chica
niteworlok
It's not bull***** NW, there's some players that Fergie just doesn't know how to use and I believe Silva would be one of them. Other class players that didn't fit the Fergie system, Forlan and Veron. What would Fergie do with his wingers if he did have Silva? Would he scrap his system just to fit him in or would he attempt to force silva into his system? It wouldn't work.
Bluedub
So negative - point is he will never play for us - so the point is moot - anyway he would let Silva roam in any role he wanted to even maybe let him put the keepers gloves on
