'Arry: Unlike City We Don't Need To Splash Cash

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp opened his mouth in a typical cockney manner by pointing out his squad has been put together for only a small percentage of the money City manager Roberto Mancini has spent.

City are where they are because of Sheikh Mansour and Chelsea thanks to Roman Abramovich,' Harry told The Sun.

'We have not done it that way and it makes me proud. You don't have to go out and spend fortunes to find good players.'

'Spurs are not third in the Premier League because someone has walked through the door at White Hart Lane and slapped a bundle of money on my desk.'

'City can pay players £200,000 a week, it's unbelievable. The people running Spurs have invested wisely.'

Harry continued to say...

Some of the players we brought in raised eyebrows, like Younes Kaboul, but he's made excellent progress. Hopefully it is coming together now.'

I wonder if the future England manager in waiting will leave White Hart Lane in similar circumstances to when he left Portsmouth and Southampton - heavily in debt and virtually bankrupt. We'll wait and see.

"I wonder if the future England manager in waiting will leave White Hart Lane in similar circumstances to when he left Portsmouth and Southampton - heavily in debt and virtually bankrupt. We'll wait and see." love it Tudor. Spurs current squad not including those on loan cost a combined £150 million, is that not fortunes? I know relatively speaking it doesn't come close to City but it's still fortunes is it not?

Nice to see Tottenham doing things the Arsenal way.

What you mean Fifth? By putting themselves up on a pedestal as some sort of paragon of virtue? Very Arsenalesque.

Touched a nerve has he??? I don't think he was having a pop and secretly he would love the money you lot have but he does have a point! I'm sure if you took your blinkers off you would see that. Spurs are punching above their weight. However, no one could argue that what they have achieved is nothing short of amazing...... So far. COYS

Your forgetting that Spurs always balance the books, have a strict wage cap and more often than not turn big profits on players. in the last 4 years we've recouped £90m in transfers out. We have an astute chairman with a degree in economics, dont think he's going to allow the club to become bankrupt, is he. Before you type your comments why not try thinking about them. Take your blinkers off for one sec mate

Remember Arry bad form, just like the taxman, could be just around the next corner. Choose your words wisely at this time of the season.
13/01/2012 11:54:00
Yes they could Matt and I will argue against that. Like I said above your current squad cost £150 million, you are doing better than I expected as you seem to be coping with absences very well so far but for me, and I said this at the start of the season, Spurs have the second best XI in the league.
13/01/2012 11:54:00
Hawkerdinho, 'arry is talking about spending, I am merely pointing out how much was SPENT on your current squad.
13/01/2012 11:56:00
The team that spurs had out against villa cost £47m. That is £2m less than than Torres alone! That just about somes it up!

you'll have to when Modic goes to Chelsea 'Arry
