Travelling Blues Offered Cheap Pub Food In Wigan

The landlord at The Orwell public house and restaurant situated five minutes away from the DW Stadium has offered Manchester City supporter's cheap pub food ahead of Monday's 8pm kick-off.

The chap running the pub is a City season ticket holder and it goes without saying, Blues are more than welcome to pop in for a pint and a bite to eat prior to the game. Plus, if you mention you saw this article on Vital Manchester City you might get a pint cheaper than advertised.

If you're in the mood for pies, chips, peas and gravy then expect to pay no more than £3.00 for a plateful.

A full menu is available until 7pm.

The Orwell


Originally built in 1877, The Orwell is a converted Victorian cotton warehouse, situated on the canal side at the heart of Wigan Pier; they are described as the perfect venue for your event, offering superb facilities at sensible prices, with experienced catering and functions staff to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience.

They have 2 large function rooms with a combined capacity of 380.

Live football on plasma screens including every Premier League match

Only been to Wigan once - the ground is behind a huge shopping mall, which kind of kills the ambience of going to a game! But I'll remember this place the next time I go over, looks like it's got a bit of atmosphere.
