Transfer Deadline Approaches

The January transfer window closes in a matter of hours and with some unfinished business at Manchester City FC I wonder if the club will have time to offload the likes of Carlos Tevez and Wayne Bridge?

ESPN football pundits, Robbie Earle, Shaka Hislop and Tommy Smyth discuss the options.

12h10 GMT: Bridge in Sunderland for medical - City in talks with Roma for Pizzaro
Johnny Baguette
What's the point in signing Pizarro, not sure how he'll strengthen the team. We already have top quality playing in his position and some young talent waiting to get a chance if given one. Just get Bridge and Tevez out, and I'll be a happy chappy

Breaking news: Sunderland have confirmed the loan of Wayne Bridge until the end of the season - too bad they're not buying him...

Pizarro gives us cover for Yaya, a midfielder who can use the ball and make long passes and not just simple ones like De Jong and Barry.

Bit of a yawn all round I'd say. FFP - Killing transfer windows in a league near you. Cheers Michel Platini!

Absolutely fantastic to finally get rid of Bridge BTW, even if it is only on loan. Don't understand that guy whatsoever.

FCB - is it right us rags have signed that Swiss youngster??
niteworlok
Yep, we've allowed a 19 year old defender who couldn't break into the first team (17 year old Rekik has made the bench ahead of him) to leave on a free transfer to the rags. What a coup for your lot eh?
fifthcolumnblue
Much like the coup you did in the summer with Hargreaves, a United reject - that deal has panned out real good.

Hello Nerdkrap. As per usual, you fail to spot the real issue, which is that many of your fans were utterly devestated that hargreaves wasn't given another chance with manUre, whereas most City fans went "Freddie who"? If he does well for you, then so be it. But mancini has opted to have the 17 year old Karim Rekik on the bench as cover ahead of your new wunderkind, so that might tell you something about how desparate we were to hang on to him...
fifthcolumnblue
Yeah well filth Mr. Wenger also turned down the oportunity to sign Ronaldo before he joined United, bet he regrets that. Hargreaves hadnt played for 3 years when you signed him, he was a great footballer before, but many United fans were baffled both by Hargreaves and by 5hitty. As for Freddie we will just have to wait and see, because there is of course no way your "great" coach could be wrong, is there.
