FC Porto Look Like A Formidable Team

Manchester City's Europa League opponents this week are FC Porto, a team who are currently second behind Benfica in the Primeira Liga table.

Recent history

Under the guidance of André Villas-Boas (who became at 33-years-old the youngest coach ever to win a European competition) season 2010/11 saw the club win a second treble (consisting in the Portuguese Liga, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Europa League titles).

If Manchester City are to progress in this years competition they are going to have to perform an awful lot better than they did in the Champions League.

Nobody's mugs these. Looking forward to an exciting distraction from the title race!

Oh they'll definitely give us a game all right.

Tough nut to crack on home soil - a draw would be a great result.
Thaibluefan
Yep a goalless draw just fine by me.

1-1 or 2-2 would be better for the away goals but yes, Porto are very hard to beat at their ground in any competition (even though they dropped out of the Champions League with us, they weren't beaten at home) but are very beatable away so even a 1-0 or 2-1 loss wouldn't be fatal.
