Distin - Will he....Won't he ?

In what is becoming an increasing tedious saga, it's now looking likely that Distin will be leaving Eastlands with rumours circulating this morning that City are being linked with Dutch international defender, Joris Mathijsen.

Mathijsen (26), who plays for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, would be a ready made replacement for the former City skipper, who despite reports of talks stalling, is still being strongly linked with Middlesbrough and Pompey.

Pyscho, quite rightly has questioned the logic of Distin's move to either of these two clubs, as at best it is a sideways move if not downwards, but at the end of the day the real issue boils down to money and nothing else.

I think most City fans are at the point where they are totally bored and fed up with the whole affair and just want it sorted one way or another... 'am I bovvered?' I can hear you all say !

Sadly for Distin, this affair has tarnished his reputation with the fans which is a shame for him. In a relatively short space of time he has gone from inspirational captain and fan's favourite to being viewed as a fringe player and mercenary; not the way he or City would have wanted.

...Expect a few more twists in the tale before it's all sorted.

I think he will soon realise which side his bread is buttered and no doubt stay and sign a new contract with jam on it.
