VMC's Some Might Say: The Second Coming

85 league goal Manchester City are threatening to sweep all before them again. Post Match Reaction to the rout of Norwich City...

Roberto Mancini:

'I think we gave a fantastic performance, because it was not easy to win here. I said before the game that Norwich had been playing well, but we needed to finish the season well and we have scored another six goals today away from home. We are starting to play very well again.

'Carlos has improved a lot over the last two weeks. He played 60 minutes against West Brom and 80 today. He is a lot better now. We were without him for five months, and if we had him along with Mario and Dzeko then maybe we would have scored more goals. - The title? No, it's finished!'

Vincent Kompany:

'Enough has been said, all we had to do was go out and play. We realised that for a couple of months we did not perform at our best, and today with Carlos and Kun up front it was not just about the goals, we were fired by their performance and workrate.

'In defence we were strong and in midfield we won our battles, so it was very positive. We just have to finish the season with no regrets and perform at very high standard.'

Paul Lambert:

'The effort was there in abundance as it always is. Maybe the scoreline is a bit severe....But you can't legislate for losing 3 goals in 7 minutes. We'll learn from it, take our medicine and bounce back.

'Look at the calibre of the players they've got. The strike force is incredible. Their first two goals were world class. They have done us twice, the only side to do that.'

genuinely, no disrespect to Villa who this season have failed to live up to their usual top half performance, that they will go to Old toilet today and get turned over good style and Bob is right 5 points at this stage is too much a gap when you have to rely on the rags losing 2 matches in 5. City are doing their bit by keeping it alive just a little longer thanks to Wigan and a superb togetherness yesterday at Norwich.
