Marriner At The Controls For MCR Derby Title Clash
MCFC have confirmed that Andre Marriner will referee next week's derby humdinger at the Etihad Stadium...
Marriner has yet to referee a City game this season but has overseen the rags 3 times: wins at Bolton and Norwich and a draw at Liverpool.
Only Peter Walton of the top refereeing list has had less games than Marriner with 22 to his name this season. Marriner has taken charge of 25 games and flourished 83 yellow and 5 red cards.
At the other end of the scale, Howard Webb has been the official on 44 occasions across all competitions.
As a season notable for some pisspoor refereeing and dreadful cheating draws to a close, here's hoping Ashley Plunge doesn't set out to ruin a potentially great footballing spectacle next Monday night.
