'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sheikh Mansour: We Do Have A Chance

Cue crestfallen anti-City hacks and pundits sobbing at their bars tonight. His Highness Sheikh Mansour, MCFC owner has declared his satisfaction with the club...

Speaking on Abu Dhabi TV, the man who has transformed Manchester football and helped break up the Premier League's top four monopoly has backed his men to the hilt in their battle to overcome the rags and lift the English title for the first time since 1968:

'The City versus United derby will be important. I think the gap will close to less than three points. The last two matches of both teams will be decisive in designating the champions.'

The 42 year old City leader went on to praise the work of Roberto Mancini, his backroom staff and his players:

'The difference is three points and we do have a chance. But whatever happens and even if we don't win, I am very happy and satisfied with the players, the team and the management...They have performed very well and have improved in their last few matches.'

The timing of these statements and backing like this can only serve to further energise City's transformation from the hunted to the hunters.

Jonny on the spot as always m.Baguette. Glad to hear timely intervention. Would like to think player talks stays as it is, little and humble. In contrast to a panicky few of the last four months!

Full support and encouragement from the man at the top. Over to Mancini to get the players in the right frame of mind. This time next Monday!!

Nice one Blues! Anyone know if Our Malc is going to issue a Stretford rallying cry from Miami?

22 points above last years second placed team, 18 points clear of 4th place and 34 points clear of ex Big Four Liverpool. Yep, that's progress I reckon.

Damn it! What will the press write about now that Mancini isn't getting the boot?

Best owner in the world, Manchester loves you Sheikh Mansour. He is the picture perfect owner - generous to a fault, cares about the fans (we still have cheaper season ticket prices than some Championship clubs!), not pushy and demanding, and very patient and intelligent.

The sheik is a commensurate gentleman in both his business and personal dealings. He has made the stuff of dreams a reality to so many of us and for that with hand on heart I say thank you.
