As the VMC Forum sends up more sky blue poll smoke following our latest victory over the rags, we take a look back at the leader board during a testing January...

...and comparing it below to today's table it's here where we can point directly to Samir Nasri's continuing resurgence alongside Sergio Aguero's meteoric rise to the top of our table with two fixtures remaining. Joe Hart, Gael Clichy, Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott, Pablo Zabaleta and Yaya Toure's consistency is noteable as is David Silva's persistence. Jimmy Milner has fallen away in the standings due to lack of game time.

This season VMC is running our Man of The Season contest using a Formula One style points system run by PhillyBlueMoon Productions replacing the accumulated polls won result used at the end of the previous four seasons to define our Maine Man. This way we are getting greater accuracy over who is regularly putting in a shift for the City cause.

Did the Manure fans get home safe after the game, only it's a bloody long way back to the home counties...every game is an away game for them; I always remember sitting in a bar in Pattaya, Thailand, watching the football, a lad was talking to the thai girls, when i walked off to the toilet, we spoke I asked him ''were are you from'' Manchester he said, oh your a City fan then, how did you know that, he looked suprised, because Utd fans live near me, I'm from cambridge. Had a great laugh and a beer.
