'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Show James Some Respect

It's one of those strange quirks of football that often sees transferred players make an almost immediate return to their former ground and play against the club that has just sold him.

I'm sure that David James would rather not have returned to Eastlands so soon after he left us for Pompey. There has been a bit of un-necessary banter from both clubs about the move, but I think that's largely due to the tabloids rather than having any real substance.

Regular VitalCity readers will know I've not been the biggest fan of Jamo, but let's be fair now and acknowledge that David has been one of City's better players over the last three years and despite the odd gaffe and calamity, you couldn't fault him for effort and committment.

James' transfer has also been an astute piece of business for City with the arrival of a young, international 'keeper, already with 40 plus caps.

So, when Jamo appears on Wednesday night in an unfamiliar jersey it will be a strange, if not slightly surreal experience.

Let's give David the welcome he deserves - City fans are the best in the land, so lets show it tomorrow by showing a former Blue the respect he's earned and deserves.

Having said that, I hope he f**ks up in goals!

If David James showed us some respect on his move to portsmouth maybe we would show him respect, he said that ''Manchester City were forcing him to retire'' he says we have a lackof ambition He Dosen't deserve our respect after that.
Mancitygal4eva
we do have a lack of ambition
ronin
read the interview with him he blames us for most things including him losing his england place
Mancitygal4eva
gal4leva .... Don't believe everything you read in the paper, why would they force him to retire when he was first choice 'keeper and the highest paid player ?? What price him scoring from a corner in the last minute.
alphieblues
no he believes (this has been on sky sports) thatwe forcing him cause we only offered him a year or two
Mancitygal4eva
He lost his England place because he is old and decrepid at least at Man City he got first team football rather than warming the bench with his hairy fat arse on another teams bench and that kept him in the hunt.
TeddyLyon
I don't believe that offering someone a two year contract at the age of 36 is forcing them out.
