Mancio: It Was A Miracle - We Need To Improve

English Premier League winner Roberto Mancini has taken a step back from ongoing Mancunian celebrations to drink it all in and weigh up what happens next...

In three major interviews, City's shrewd boss gave Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and BBC Sport his thoughts on City's stunning title triumph:

'It was a miracle. God looked at our game and gave us a helping hand. Football is mad and it is extraordinary because of that. Games end on the final whistle and you cannot give up.

'We lost 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 - always in games we could win. United lost 3-0 to Newcastle and 6-1 against us, but we never had a game like that. We worked very hard. We deserved to win this.'


The Blues boss, unbeaten in 111 games in 141 as City manager, also ran the rule over numerous key issues ahead of a busy European summer...

The City Squad

'Barça and Real Madrid every year buy two or three players and spend a lot of money. I think for Manchester City it will be the same. We need to improve. We need to have the strength to play Champions League and Premier League...we need to have a good team, a strong team with a good mentality, and I'm sure we will do it.'

His Contract

'I have not yet talked about the new contract, but I'm happy to work here. There is the basis to open talks. Sheikh Mansour sent me a message of congratulations. He was happy...Winning abroad is my dream. One day I'd like to win the Spanish Liga but also the Portuguese league with Benfica. There are clubs that have made football history: I am ready for anything, but now I just think about City.'

Balotelli

'He is an incredible talent. He is young, and for this reason sometimes he can have bad behaviour - it is normal. But it is important for him to understand he can lose his talent. He can play football for another 10 or 12 years. I hope that now, after this title, he can understand that it's better that he starts to work in a good way.

'Mario was clear, I also will be: Balotelli will 101 per cent stay at Man City. Balotelli was decisive in his 15 minutes versus QPR. I'm sure he will have a great Euro 2012.'


Tévez

'It is not difficult to manage Carlos Tevez. He's a good guy. We had a good relationship always. I don't know why we had that situation in September but in the end he's a good guy and a fantastic player.'
