Touré To Real Rumours Grow On The Continent

The story doing the rounds that City midfield colossus Yaya Touré sees his job as being done in Manchester and is ready to return to Spain continues to circulate...

The rag nemesis' agent Dimitri Seluk poured fuel on the fire a couple of days ago knocking out remarks that City gaffer Roberto Mancini dismissed as misinterpreted. Basically, it was attributed that the big man could play for any of Europe's elite clubs which of course is factually correct. Some of his bulldozing performances in England have been out of this world so it's small wonder that Saturn FC weren't thrown into the equation.

However, various Spanish media sources including Barçelona's Catalan daily 'Mundo Deportivo' persist with the suggestion that Jose Mourinho sees Touré as the man to fire Real Madrid to winning the Champions League and he'd be prepared to break the bank to secure his signature. The Spanish press attempt to strengthen the claim by pointing to a strong relationship between Florentino Perez, the Real president and His Highness Sheikh Mansour. Yet City's hierarchy have carefully constructed solid bonds throughout world football whilst Mancio has been constructing a tightknit squad.

Some Spanish and French hacks have gone one further in suggesting that Touré's non participation in the Manchester Victory Parade this week spoke volumes. City maintain that Touré flew to Monaco for treatment on his injured hamstring. He is now in Spain visiting his close friend Eric Abidal who is recovering from a liver transplant.

Admittedly, Touré who turned 29 on the day City beat QPR had talked up his love for former side Barçelona last week but he had also publically committed to continuing to make history with the English Champions.

Still, any Blue currently residing in dreamland could be forgiven for feeling a little uneasy at the thought of such a key player leaving our buzzing club this summer. Without a doubt, his influence was severely missed in a difficult January during the African Cup of Nations.

Yet based upon Yaya's post match reaction to the title win, you'd have to say that traceably, it could well have been one of our favourite Stretford loving hacks at The Sun who kicked this one off...

According to Talksport: "I cannot say anything about the rumours", Toure told RAC1. "We will have to wait and see what happens. Mourinho has not called me"

If he did go to Real or back to Barcelona, or Spurs even - I'm sure 'Arry will 'av somefink to say about him being a top playa, triffic lad, I've spoke to the chairman, we'll do everyfink we can, the fans here are very lucky...anyway back to my point: What could we realistically expect to get for him in terms of a transfer fee? Considering Modric is supposedly worth £40m. What about £50m? £60m?
