Hazard: A Choice Of Champions?

Having secured the title of Ligue 1's Player Of The Year, Lille's young prodigy Eden Hazard will play his final game in France tonight. Next stop, somewhere in England...

The brilliant 21 year old attacking midfielder has scored 17 league goals for Lille this season and is the most prolific assister in France with 15 to his name. Lille will finish the season in third place and the Champions League play offs.

Expand his record out over four full seasons and a bit. We're looking at 146 Ligue 1 appearances, 33 goals and 34 assists. Not bad. Small wonder that the Belgian livewire has been so heavily linked with City and United all season.

In advance of Lille's final game of the season and Hazard's farewell tonight at home to Nancy, the French media are reporting that Champions League winners Chelsea lodged a whammer of a bid for Hazard in advance of their famous victory in Munich last night.

Having finally secured Roman Abramovich's holy grail in the twilight of his Chelsea old guard's careers, the oligarch is about to embark upon a major squad rebuilding operation and Hazard's signature would be the first step in that process.

TF1 reports that Hazard will announce his destination tonight. It could come down to a straight choice between the two jubilant champions City and Chelsea.

Wouldn't he rather go to manure and play for free? I mean, they've got all the history, innit?

haha @ fifthcolumnblue, sad thing is,they'll never stop with those remarks, but on the bright side, our two disgusting oil mafia clubs will continue to win trophies!Anyway,I fully expect Hazard to go to you guys, think he'll be a great addition to the PL wherever he goes.
BlueBlaze
He needs to choose where he wants to go and people then need to respect his choice. Naturally I woud like him to come to City but any man has the right to ply his trade where he wants and we all should respct that.
Wswilly3
my bet is he is hanging out for the Club that will pay him the most and Chelsea look like they will float the boat on this one.

Chelsea? You mean Abramovich Inc, surely? Chelsea are a bankrupt shell posing as a football club. ;)
Wyn Mills
Wyn, you truly are a Backpfeifengesicht ;)

Chelsea will have pocketed tens of millions after last night's win, plenty for the transfer kitty.
